Appointment preparation
Preparing for your tattoo session
What you should know. The day of your tattoo session is coming up, and it's important that you're well prepared to have the best experience possible. Here are some tips and advice on how you can best prepare for your hand poke tattoo in my studio in St. Gallen:
1. Get plenty of rest
Make sure you get enough sleep the night before your tattoo session. Your body can cope better with the tattooing process when you are rested. Pain tolerance can be lowered with too little sleep.
2. Keep your skin healthy
Start taking good care of your skin a few days beforehand. Drink enough water to keep your skin hydrated.
Avoid sunburn or injury to the area to be tattooed. Healthy skin makes the tattooing process and healing easier. If you want, you can use a light scrub the day before. Important: do not apply numbing cream shortly before the tattoo appointment!
3. Pay attention to your diet
Eat a nutritious meal before your appointment. Avoid coming to the session hungry as your body needs energy to deal with the tattoo process.
Alcohol and caffeine: If you can, avoid alcohol and caffeine on the day of your tattoo session. Both substances can thin the blood and make the session more uncomfortable.
4. choose the right clothing
Wear clothing that is comfortable and can be easily removed locally if necessary. Depending on the body part of the tattoo, you should make sure that the clothing does not put unnecessary strain on the tattooed area.
5. Bring your ideas with you
If you have specific ideas for your tattoo, bring reference pictures or sketches to better communicate your ideas. Be prepared to talk to me about your ideas and make adjustments if necessary.
6. plan enough time
A hand poke tattoo can take a little more time (than machine tattoos) depending on the size and level of detail. Allow enough time so that you (and I) are not under time pressure during and after the session.
After the tattoo, you will need time to follow the first steps of aftercare. To protect your new tattoo, don't plan any sweaty sports sessions or visits to the sauna or swimming pool for two weeks after the tattoo. And not to stress it unnecessarily and support the healing process.
7. relax and enjoy the process
If you like, bring your headphones and listen to music or a podcast to relax and keep yourself occupied during the session.
Anticipate your new tattoo. You are ready for a unique hand poke tattoo experience in my studio in Gossau SG. I look forward to working with you and creating a piece of art that you will love to wear.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. See you soon!

During the session
1. arrive and relax
As soon as you arrive at my studio, you will be immersed in a friendly and cozy atmosphere. We'll start with a relaxed chat about your desired tattoo design. You can relax and rest assured that I will take the time to fully understand your wishes and ideas.
We will discuss the final details of your design and clarify any questions you may still have. If necessary, I will make any final adjustments to the design to make sure it suits you perfectly.
2. skin preparation
Before we start tattooing, the skin is thoroughly cleaned and prepared. The area to be tattooed is carefully disinfected to ensure the highest standards of hygiene. A stencil of the design is transferred to your skin so that you can see the exact location of the tattoo. And you can better imagine how it will look in the end. You will have the opportunity to check the fit of the design and make any necessary changes before we begin.
3. the hand poke experience
Now the process of hand poke tattooing begins. Unlike machine tattoos, this process is manual and particularly gentle. I start slowly so that you can get used to it. Using a sterile tattoo needle, I work the color into the skin dot by dot. This traditional method allows me to create every detail with great precision.
The hand poke session is quiet and is often perceived as less painful. There is no whirring noise like with a tattoo machine. You also have time for yourself. You can enjoy the quiet atmosphere and relax while your tattoo slowly takes shape.
4. time
Stitching by hand takes more time than with a machine. Please be aware of this. At the same time, it also creates an almost meditative atmosphere. Make sure you don't fall asleep during the hand-poking ;)
5. atmosphere and comfort
During the session, I will make sure that you feel comfortable and enjoy the experience.
Soft music or soothing background noises create a pleasant atmosphere in which you can relax. If you need a break to stretch or have a drink, need a warm blanket for cold feet or anything else, just let me know. Your comfort comes first. Never hesitate to tell me what you need to feel comfortable.
6. aftercare and completion
After the tattoo has been completed, I will explain the important steps for aftercare to ensure optimal healing. The fresh tattoo will be cleaned and covered with a special protective bandage.
You will receive detailed instructions on how to care for your new tattoo to preserve the colors and avoid infections. We will then discuss the final result and I will take pictures of it.
Are you convinced by me and my offer? Then please write to me!

Cancellation/rescheduling of appointments
If you are unable to make the scheduled appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. We can then reschedule the appointment to another suitable date. This will give me the opportunity to use the space and time for other purposes.
Thank you very much in advance for your understanding.

Careful advice
Whether it's jewelry on the skin or in the skin, as a trained goldsmith, I have an eye for detail. As a handpoke artist, I can translate this into the skin. That's why I offer a comprehensive consultation before every appointment to ensure all your questions are answered and your wishes are taken into account. After the tattoo, I'll provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to prevent infection and best support the healing process. This ensures that the final tattooed result will bring you joy for a long time to come.
Transparent processes
I'm always available to answer your questions and will be happy to explain my hygiene measures in detail. I keep thorough records of all procedures performed and use certified products to ensure the highest level of safety.
Queer & neurodivergent friendly space
It's not without reason that my studio is a safe space for me and everyone who visits me. My studio is designed to make you feel comfortable and safe. I value a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Get tattooed in an environment that combines creativity and comfort. And invite yourself to join me in a feel-good place where you can be yourself. Don't hesitate to share your wishes with me so that I can help you have a pleasant tattoo session.
Vegan and environmentally friendly products
Unfortunately, certain disposable products cannot be completely eliminated from the tattoo process for hygiene reasons. However, since animal welfare, our health, and that of the planet are important to me, I take these into account as much as possible when choosing products.

Words of Mindfulness / FAQ
Please be aware that a tattoo is and remains an intervention in the skin, in the body. It's an invasive procedure, which can always be associated with the risk of an immune reaction, e.g., due to allergies, infections, and the like. Of course, we tattoo artists work as carefully as possible. However, a certain residual risk may remain, which you automatically accept during a session. Therefore, we tattoo artists cannot be held liable for this. Likewise, health insurance does not cover the treatment costs.
Depending on the skin area and/or aftercare , blowouts/gaps cannot be ruled out. Every person and every skin area is different, and this can affect the final result. While we as tattoo artists work with the utmost care and precision, we are not liable for these. Thank you for your understanding.
Please be aware that when choosing lettering or symbols from other languages or cultures , we as tattoo artists cannot be familiar with them. If you decide to get something like this done, please make sure the word/symbol is spelled/drawn correctly so you don't have any unpleasant experiences later.
I reserve the right to adapt online templates in my own way if you haven't obtained permission from the intellectual property owner. Some artists also sell "tattoo tickets," which grant permission to use the design as a tattoo template. Please send me the ticket (and the design) along with your tattoo request.
Tattoos last a very long time if they're done well. However, if you ever decide to have it lasered off, please be aware:
Laser treatments are at least three times more expensive, three times more painful, and require at least three times more sessions than the actual tattoo session. There are several months of rest in between sessions, during which your immune system can take care of the blasted pigments. Also, not all inks are equally easy to remove.
So, think carefully and take enough time to decide what you want to have done so you can enjoy your tattoo for as long as possible.I reserve the right to refuse any tattoo requests that are racist, homophobic or otherwise violate any human integrity.
Tattooing, especially handpoking, isn't just a job; it's a craft, a profession. I dedicate a lot of time to it, and it involves more preparation and follow-up work than you'd expect in a single appointment. Please take this into account when setting our prices. Thank you <3
